Yes I skipped 6!! That is because Lane does that..Yes, he is now counting to 11, saying his ABC's, and amazing us each day!

So back to bragging, which I love to do!! LOL!!! Lane is beginning to recognizes colors now and shapes! He can almost spell his name! However every minute of every day isn't sunshine and rainbows, he is a typical two year old! He is starting to back talk now, I got the "leave me alone" the other day at the dinner table! I was so taken back that my two year old baby just told me that!!

A friend of mine called me the other day and we were talking how much it amazes us what kids pick up on and how they pick up our mannerisms!! For example...Lane will call Daddy, Jason sometimes when he is making him mad or he tells me to "wait a minute" when I tell him to pick up his toys! All of this is stuff that I say on a daily basis!! I watch Lane trying to be like his daddy, and it melts my heart every time! I want him to grow up to be a loving, caring, and sweet boy! I hope that when I look back I can say that I did all I could to help raise a MAN just like his daddy!

Snow! Snow!! Snow!!!

So this week we had a blizzard hit!! We got 12 inches of snow and we had 4 foot snow drifts! Lane however LOVED IT!! We couldn't keep him inside! Last year he didn't want anything to do with the snow! This year he had a blast!! The only bad thing about being snowed in was I got so bored!! MAJOR cabin fever! We had plans to go see our friend Jessica and Brooks(aka Baby Books) but there was no way that we could make it through the snow covered roads! Maybe next week, however we have another storm moving in next week

He is a toddler!! Oh no!

Yep you read that right!! On Thanksgiving Day, Lane turned two! Where have the last two years gone?!? We had his birthday party a few weeks ago, but he got two(yes two) birthday cakes on the 25th! Plus he got to see all of his favorite people on his big day!

It's so hard to believe that two years ago we were adjusting to life with a newborn! Now we are potty training! He is such a blessing and the light of our lives! We love you Lane Thomas!!

Lil' Bullrider

Lane wanted to say "HAPPY HALLOWEEN"!! YES it's late but here are his pics!! We decided to let Lane go as a little bullrider this year!! My what an adorable bullrider he was!!

He did so well this year!! We went to a couple of houses around Grammie's house and then we headed to a Trunk N Treat! He went up and said "Trick or Treat" Plus he said "Thank you"!! Man we are raising a very polite little boy!! Once we got home, we turned on the porch light and gave out candy! Lane really enjoyed that until some scary outfits! He would say "Whooo" and then we would growl!! So funny!!! Enjoy!! I promise to post again soon!!

So I am an Aunt!

My sister Jenn and her hubby Matt welcomed Henry James on born Oct 4th! Yes I am two weeks behind(but I just got his pics edited!) I have to say that being an aunt is so much fun!! I get to spoil him and then send him home!! Lane is excited also, when we went to the hospital to see the new bundle of joy Lane didn't want me to hold the baby at all! However when Jenn and Henry were here at the house two weekends ago, Lane was fine with me sharing my cuddles! Then Lane was very determined to love of Henry just as much, Lane kept asking "give baby kisses".. So cute! Congrats Jenn and Matt!!

As happy and loving as I feel when I am holding Henry, I have no desire to have another anytime soon! I am enjoying Lane, he is at such a fun age! Plus he can tell me what is wrong, I don't have to try and figure out what cry that is!! So enjoy the cutest nephew in the world!!

Busy Busy Busy

Okay so my friend Jessica(aka Ticket Jessica,lol) got onto me and told me to update!! We have been so busy lately! Last weekend we went to JJ's grandpa's down by Broken Bow. We had a blast! I loved seeing Lane interact with his Great Grandfather!! We, as Lane and I, are just getting over a stomach bug, and now this weekend JJ and I are going to OU/TX!! We are so ready and excited!! This is our Anniversary trip(yes it's a month late!) Now onto what you really want to hear about, LANE!!

He is such an amazing smart little boy! Each day is something new!! Most are good, some aren't so good!! On Monday night, we were at the dinner table with Tayler and Zach, and Lane started saying his ABC's! He only skipped a few letters, but AMAZING!! He is speaking in sentences now, and is VERY bossy!! He is still having a rough time with school but we are hoping that it gets easier each time!! So onto the pics!! ENJOY!!

A Mother's Love

AMAZING!! It got me to thinking about what a mother's love can do for a child.

I never truly understood this until I had Lane. I would see a child fall and all it took to make that child stop crying/hurting was a kiss from Momma. I see this action everyday with Lane, and it amazes me each time. No one else's kisses work as fast as mine! But this video got me to thinking about what else a Mother's Love can do.

It can help a broken heart. I know this from so many past experiences, that is until I met JJ. Broken heart after broken heart, she was there to pick me up. However I mean broken heart in a total different way also. JJ and I had a four year journey to get to finally become parents. In that four years our mother's would pick us up, wipe away the tears, and tell us that everything was going to be okay. As it turned out they were right. Now we have Lane, and I can honestly say that a Mother always knows best.

We are so truly blessed to have these women in our lives, and I hope that one day Lane will feel the same way about me. I know without a doubt that he loves me, I see it each day. From the time he wakes up with a I love you Mommy, to the time he goes to bed saying "Sing Sunshine again Mommy"(we sing you are my sunshine each day) When he hurts my heart hurts for him, and I feel that is the reason why a mother's kiss is the cure all. The love that Lane has brought into this house and our lives is one that only a child can bring. They truly are God's Miracles. The day I became a mother is the day I stop living for myself and start living for him. So Lane, I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART. YOUR MY SON ARE MY SUNSHINE.
