3 months and more

My oh my!! What a life I have!! I am so in love with all my boys!! I can't believe I am so blessed!! So here is your wonderful update!! I have skipped a lot(oopppsss) So I will start with Lane!! Lane is just amazing! He is so smart and happy! He is becoming such a little man now!! He loves to help in the kitchen(I swear he is going to be a chef..his future wife will thank me(not that we are going to go there)) Lane just finished the Preschool 3 program at Messiah, and loved it!! He can speak more spanish than JJ and I combined!! He is still loving his baby brother and is very protective of him. He is beginning to come out of his shyness(which we realized this weekend while we were at the BassMaster Classic). He got into the Bethany School System, so he starts Pre-K there in August. He started T-Ball this year, that has been a challenge! LOL! I am not above bribing, which I do!! He is getting better about getting out there and having fun!! Braden Michael is my joyful blessing!! This baby never stops smiling, well maybe when he is hungry!! He is my beast also!! At his 6 month(yes you read that right) he weighed in at 18 lbs 15 oz and was 28 inches!! He is a great eater to say the least!! LOL!! He rolls to get wherever he wants, he is trying to get his knees under him, and he can sit up a little at a time!! He is saying Dada(which JJ loves), Bubba, and baba(bottle). I am working on Mama, but all I get is a ear piercing sounds!! Not gonna lie it's kinda of cute! He is a wonderful sleeper still. He is totally in love with his big bro, anytime Lane walks into a room, Bray lights up!! It's kinda of cool!! JJ is doing good! Work has been a tad crazy lately but nothing new. They will be moving the pharmacy soon to a new building so it will be a transition for him to have to drive a little further and in more traffic to get to work!! He is enjoying watching LT play ball and he loves that Bray is a tad bit of a daddy's boy!! Me...well that is a very good question. I am doing good, worn out but good! I am still working at Messiah MDO, and loving it. I am in with 1 1/2 to 2 yr olds! I am in the class that Lane first started in 3 years ago, with Ms. Betsy! It's hard to believe that in August LT will no longer be in the same building as me. My baby is growing up!! I couldn't have asked for an easier baby that Bray! He is truly my happiness!! I am enjoying being a T-Ball mommy, it so fun getting to see LT make new friends!! I also sold my part of the store to my best friend. Life kinda of got in the way, but it's all good!! Okay that is life in the Johnston house! We love you all!

Braden Michael!!!!

So it's been a while since I last blogged!!! So here is the update!!! We welcomed Braden Michael into the world on Nov 16, 2012!!! Which also happens to be Papa Dales Birthday!! So that is day so a very special day!! So here is Braden's birth story!! I had to be a the hospital at 6:30, so my sister(jamie) came up and hung out with Lane the night before and stay with him til they came up to the hospital!! JJ and I got to the hospital and they got me to my room. So they needed to start the IV(I didn't have anything to drink after midnight, so I was a little dehydrated) well it took them 5 times and a anesthesiologist to finally get it going! To say I was little nervous is an understatement. I was completely knocked out for Lane's section. Before they took me back I got to see my family! Like the big sentimental person that I am, the minute I saw Lane, I started bawling!! They wheeled me back and got everything set up, got my spinal going and curtain up, and then bought JJ in. They started in and things went great. Braden was born at 8:52 AM at 9 lbs 2 oz and 21 inches. When they told us the weight we were a little taken back. We didn't expect him to be that big! He is a perfect a baby and so sweet!! I didn't think I could handle having this much love in my heart but boy I am over the moon! Lane is beyond in love with his little brother!! He is so sweet with him and loves to kiss and hug on him!! So cute!! I was lucky to have JJ home with us for almost two weeks, he went back to work last friday. So now I am trying to get into the routine of having two boys!! It's been great so far, however I know it will change once I have to go back to work in Jan!!

10 weeks to go

I can't believe that in 10 short weeks we will finally get to meet Mr Braden!! I can't tell you how excited and scared I am!! Yes, I said scared! I know that some of you are laughing, however I am scared of going from 1 little big boy to a newborn boy!! I know that I can do it, but I am going to be a Mommy to two little boys!! I am not afraid to admit it that this new transition is scaring me a little more than I thought it would!! I mean it's been the three of us for almost 4 years, Lane has been the center of our universe, so to add another little guy to the mix is freaking this Mommy out a little bit!! I have no doubt that we have enough love for millions of kids however I am freaked out here!! LOL!! I have no doubt that I can do this Mommy of two, and still manage to do the things that I love, it will just take some adjusting!! Okay, no that they freak out is over!! On to the good stuff!!

We(as in Bess) got the mural on Braden's room done this weekend! It turned out adorable!! I love it!! Now to get the rest of the room done, and we will be set!! I have most of his clothes put away, now I just need to do the finishing touches!! Lane even got to help with the painting! He was so proud of himself! It was so cute, how he really wanted to help! Man that kid amazes me each day!! He is so excited to meet his baby brother, he ask me each day when is Braden coming mommy, and he makes sure to kiss my belly!! He is such a sweetheart!! He kisses my belly when I drop him off at school and when I pick him up! Such a loving little man!! I think we must be doing something right!?!

80 days

Say what?!? Yep you read that right...we get to meet Braden in 80 days!! I go from a mommy of 1 to a mommy of 2!!! Wow!! I know to some of you that isn't that big of a deal but to me, well it is!! We are so excited to meet him, however I am a little scared of the change!! It's been the 3 of us for almost 4 years, and it will be the 4 of us!! Lane is very excited to meet him, however I am not going to lie, he has his moments where he says "I don't want baby brother"!! I fully expect this to be a HUGE challenge at times, but I have no doubt that Lane will be a great big brother!!! Lane and JJ have both got to feel Braden moving about, which is pretty much all the time now!! Now when he moves my whole belly moves with him!! It's quite funny!!

Well Hello there!!

It's been a while since I last updated!! I mean the title of our blog is Us against a Boy and ???...Well we found out that the ???? is a boy, Mr Braden Michael!! I can't wait to meet him, he is so active right now and moving and kicking!! I have been feeling good(FINALLY)!! I have gotten to the point to where I have energy (however not so much when it's 113 degrees outside)!! JJ was so excited to hear that it was a boy(he said he wanted another boy so that he didn't have to deal with boyfriends, so instead he wants those crazy girlfriends) Now onto why you read the blog!! The boys!! Lane is doing great he starts the Preschool 3 program at Messiah in about 2 weeks!! He is so excited!! As most of you know he wanted a baby sister, so when he found out that it was a baby brother he was a tad bit disappointed!! Which he got over pretty quickly!! Once he figured out that he could play in the mud with him and make mudpies!! so now when you ask him if he is happy, he says "Yep, and I get to teach him to pee in the grass" LOL Well that is about all I have for the moment!!

Ch..Ch...Ch....CHANGES!!!

Hello there!! I know it's been awhile!! Opps, life has gotten a bit busy!! So many things pulling us in 15 million different directions!!! So let me just drop the biggest bombshell...are you ready for this?? The Johnston's are expecting Baby J #2!! Yep you read that right!! #2 is due Dec 3rd, yes I said the 3rd of Dec(yep 8 days after Lane's birthday). That wasn't really our plan, however we all know that, the man upstairs likes to laugh at our plans when he shows us his plans!! We were in complete shock! As you know with Lane it was a 4 year journey!! This one was a 1 month journey!! How awesome is that!! Okay, so I will give you more details in a bit but let me catch you up on everyone!! We just got back from a wonderful vacation! We went with my best friend and her family to Hilton Head, SC!! WOW!! Loved it there, wish we could move there!! Okay maybe not live there full time but at least part time!! LOL..Lane loved it!! He loved the beach, of course he lived in the sand(he is such a boy) but towards the end of the week he really liked getting in the ocean!! JJ had a great time also! He got to play golf at 2 different beautiful course!! As for me, I had a great relaxing time, for Mother's Day JJ and Lane scheduled a Ocean Side Cabana Massage!! Let me just say I could get used to that!! All in all it was a great trip!! However we realized that this would be the last vacation with just the three of us(not going to lie it made me a little sad, which I will drive into later). JJ is still working at Pharmcare! He loves it there(as much as you can love work) and he loves everyone he works with!! He is going to be able to take about 2 weeks off for when the baby is born! He is attending the Big 12 Baseball Tourney this weekend(my parents get him and my brother tix each year)! He is pretty excited about that guy time!! Lane is doing great!! He is so excited that he is going to get to be a big brother and talks to anyone that will listen. He kisses my belly all the time and says he can't wait for baby sister to get here (we don't know yet but Lane and I think it's a girl, JJ wants a boy). He is still going to Messiah MDO!! He is in the Busy Bee class now(that would be the oldest class) He starts the Preschool 3 program come the fall!! He amazes us each day!! His new thing is to come up to me and say "Mommy, you are so pretty and I like you"! Melts my heart each time!! As for me!! Well I am doing better! God knew what he was doing when he gave me us an easy pregnancy with Lane! This one hasn't been so easy!! The day we found out, I was feeling horrible and just told JJ that he should bring home a test!! I took it that night and was in complete shock!! From that day on I have been sick to my tummy and extremely tired!! Finally this week, I have had more energy but still having bouts of sickness(thank goodness for medicine) I am hoping for a little girl this time around, I would love to have a female version of Lane!! I have been working the MDO as a teacher since Oct of 2011!! I love it!! Well I think I have made you read enough for the moment!! Hope everyone is well!! Love you all

Baby Boy one day, Big Boy the next

Where has the time gone! Sorry I haven't updated on the potty training but things have gotten a little crazy here! Go figure! Well Lane is potty trained it took about a week but we are in undies all the time now! We put a pullup on him at night just in case!! He has does done so well!! When he goes to the potty he ask if we are proud of him!! It's been nice not having to buy diapers or pull ups for the last month!! LOVE IT!! It's hard to believe that my "baby" is going to be 3 in 2 months!! Where has the time gone!! I remember thinking about finally meeting him, then getting to bring him home, then all the first. Now I have a big boy, who is potty trained, who is can recognize number, who can spell his name!! Man it goes by so fast!! So instead of thinking of the past I am going to enjoy the now!! Lane is such a joy(even if he is a monster sometimes) and I am so blessed!!

Day 7

We woke up wet this morning, we are going to work on that! We had school today, so I sent him in undies with a pullup over it!! When I picked him up at 2:30, he had no accidents at school!! YAY!! We got home and he said "Mommy, I have to poop!" So we ran to the potty and he pooped in the potty, about 30 mins later he said it again, and he pooped again in the potty! Yay Laner's!! I am so proud of you

Day 6

So Lane woke up completely dry this morning! We did great until about 10 am, he pooped in his undies!! UGGHHHH!! So he got Micky Mouse Clubhouse taken away for the day. He woke up from his nap dry also! Then he pooped in the potty this afternoon! We went out to get something to eat, and get stuff for lunches! He stayed dry! So all in all it was a good day!

Now tomorrow is a school day and I am going to send him in undies with a pull up over them, the same way we do at night!!

Days 3, 4, and 5

Sorry I skipped the updates, we went home to Hobart for the weekend!!

Day 3- Friday
He woke up wet, but we had gone out to eat with my mom and step dad and he got drink a little later than I would have liked! But we had a great day, minus pooping in his undies. We had to drive to Hobart which is a hour and half drive. We stopped in Yukon to get gas and something to eat, we let him go potty there, and got on the road. About a two miles before Hinton he said he had to potty,and we didn't want to pull over on the side of the interstate. Well he was holding it in and he leaked a little. We finally got stopped he peed some, and off we went. We had to stop in Weatherford to pick up Jamie, he peed there. We took off and got just outside of Cordell and he had to pee again. So he peed on his first dirt road! We got to Hobart with a little tiny accident., not to bad in my mind!!

Day 4-Saturday
He woke up DRY!! WTG Laner's! We had to get up and around to go to the family reunion over at the lake! He did so good! No accidents til we went to my grandparents house and he pooped in his undies! UGH!!

Day 5- Sunday
He woke up wet, but yet again he had to much to drink close to bedtime! He did GREAT all day! Playing with all of the cousins, he didn't have any accidents. Got back to my parents house, and he was playing. JJ asked him if he needed to poop, he of course said now. About 5 mins later he said "Daddy I have to pee"..Well he got in there and pooped in the potty!! Yea, Lane!! Then we had to head home. We stopped in Clinton, he went potty. Then stopped in Yukon to blow some time(we were meeting Kazi and Chris for dinner) he went potty. Got to Texas Roadhouse, went potty. Then we were eating and I asked him if he needed to potty, he said no. Well he was holding it in b/c he was talking to Alexus. He leaked a little then too. Got home went potty and he woke up dry this morning!!

All in all not to bad!! Proud of my little man. Now if we could master the pooping in the potty, we would have it made

Day 2

So Lane did GREAT last night! He got nothing to drink after 8 last night, he went potty at 8:30 and was in bed by 9! That in it's self is an accomplishment!! He went to bed with undies on with a pull up on over them, so if he had a accident it wasn't all over the bed. He woke up at 730 this morning and he was completely dry!! YIPPPPEEEE!! He had school today, so I had to send him in pullups, he had two accidents but went potty several times!! So we are making progress. Since we have been home(since 3) he has been dry (minus the poopie that he did right when we got home).

UPDATE:
We went to dinner with my Mom and Step dad, and we wore big boy undies!! He went potty before we left the house, we we got to Texas Roadhouse, off and on through the dinner, and before we left! He stayed dry the whole time.

AFTERNOON UPDATE: So we have had 2 more accidents! However he has been running around without pants, and he seems to be doing better!! He is napping now so I guess we shall see when we wake up

HOT! HOT!! HOT!!!

The title says it all!! We are in a massive heat wave! We have had 40 days over 100 degrees! We haven't had a good rain in so long! We are in a major drought! We had hardly any water pressure, you can't really enjoy a pool b/c it feels like bathwater! There appears to be no end in sight!! So when I am kinda of grump this is the reason why! We have been 100 to 110 degrees!

This was last month, after my car had been outside! So this is a little high!


This was today! This is pretty close to what it was!! We actually reached 109.5 today!!!


So when I start griping about having this stuff show me this blog post to remind me that I would rather be snowed in that sweating to no end!

Going by so fast!!

Yes, I realize that it's been a while since I last posted!! Time has gotten away from me! It seems like I was just talking about going on vacation, and now I am wanting to go back on vacation! This summer has flown by! It's crazy, that I had to buy MDO school supplies for Lane. He starts his fall semester Aug 23rd. He is growing up so fast!! I look at him now and see such a big boy!

We are in the potty training stage now!! Lord help me!! Lane is a very stubborn kiddo, and when he decides to not go potty we usually fight all day!! Usually one of us ends up in tears, now which one is always in question! However I think he is getting the hang of it! He is in Hobart right now visiting Nonna and Pops! So we shall see how well he does once he gets home!

God is Big Enough

We were in Hobart this weekend and were visiting my childhood church! Being there brought back so great memories! That is where I was baptized and married! This was the first time Lane has been to church there, and he did so well! My baby is growing up and before long he will be sitting with friends instead of me!

So anyways on to the sermon! God is Big Enough!! I needed to hear that! I have been feeling a little empty lately(in my relationship with Christ) and I have been carrying stress. I know that the Lord is there to carry me when I can't walk, and all I have to do is ask. But being a Mom, I seem to take it all on and just keep it all inside! Today's sermon was exactly what I needed to hear. No matter the problem God is big enough to handle it all. When you feel like the world is crashing down, just look to the Lord and he is there to pick it all up! With all that we have been through to get in our journey to have Lane, I knew this and put it all in the Lords hands! But for some reason lately I haven't done that!

So if you hear me whining or crying about something, just remind me of this!! God is Big Enough, so let him carry me through the rough water. For he is never leaving me and is always holding my hand.

Conversations with a 2 year old

So Lane and I are in the car lot during the week and during that time we have some great conversations!! However the best one is the one we had yesterday on the way to the Zoo..

Lane: "Mommy, where is Daddy?"
Me: "Daddy had to go to work, so he isn't coming to the Zoo with us"
LT: "I have to go to work too"
Me: "Really! Where do you work?"
LT: "Mommy, I work on computers(pronounced Compooters)"
Me: "Oh, and do you make a lot of money working on computers"
LT: "Yes I make LOTS of money mommy"

I just about died laughing! It's a little sad that he knows what money is!!

Most of the time our conversations are silly, but this time he sounded like a big boy. I had to turn around and make sure that I had the right kid in the backseat. It got me to thinking about how fast the past 2 years has gone, I mean in 2 years he will be starting Pre-K. I can only imagine what our conversations will be like them!! Before to long it will be girls and sports, oh man!! Can't he stay 2 forever! It's a fun age!

I'm Really Mad

I do realize that I skipped days in my picture deal!! Oppss!!! Things kinda of got crazy around here plus I was gone last Wed thru Friday! So I did have the best of intentions but they didn't develop into anything! Oh well!!


Now onto the title of this blog, I'm Really Mad!! Guess who says this and uses it in the right context?!? If you guessed JJ, WRONG but if you guessed Lane you would be right!!

Lane left Mommy and Daddy at home last Sunday to spend spring break with Nonna and Pops(I went down Wed night to spend some time with my family). Well he wasn't eating dinner and Nonna looked at him and said "Lane, you are making me really mad right now" Lane casually looked at her and said "I am really mad too" When I heard this story I thought he was just repeating, which he does a lot of! Not the case this time. When I walked through the door Wed night Lane was super excited to see me, the kid wouldn't leave my side(kinda of made me feel loved). Thursday morning we got up and were getting ready for the day. Lane wanted a popsicle for breakfast and I told him no(yes mean mommy) and he just looked at me and said "I am really mad right now Mommy" My jaw hit the floor that my two year old little boy said this and also said it at the right time. I just walked away.

Well today is Monday and he got into my Stamping Up ink pads (Lane is pink and purple right now). So being the mean Mommy( I really should win the award this year) I told him no Barney for the rest of the day and possibly for the rest of the week. At the time it didn't faze him. Well after Cassie and Ian were picked up, Lane asked if he could watch Barney, I said no and turned to walk away! Lane sits down and says "Mommy I am really mad right now" To which I turned around and said "Lane I am really mad also, look at your arms and hands" He just looked at them and said "Yep, they are pink and purple" and walked off.

Day 9

Miss Jordyn!! She is such a beautiful little girl and sweet little soul! Jordyn had open heart surgery yesterday at 8 months old!! She had two holes in her heart that they needed to get fixed! She is doing good for the last report I got! So if you could please put her in your prayers that would be great

Day 8

Day 7..

My life is my family!! I love my boys!! The day after I meant JJ I knew I was going to marry him! No joke!! That is a funny story which will be told another day!! JJ is my rock, and without him I wouldn't be complete!! I love you babe!! Then there is Lane!! Without JJ I wouldn't have Lane!! Lane is the light of my life!! The from the first moment I say him on the ultrasound I loved him! I didn't know that the heart could love that much!! He makes our lives complete!! I love you Turkey boy!!
