Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009

I can't believe that 2008 is almost gone! However we are looking forward to 2009!! 2008 has been full of GREAT things, but I'm sure that 2009 hold even more wonderful things! 2008 saw us FINALLY get pregnant, have the pregnancy be pretty easy on me, and then meeting Lane! This is something that we(along with tons of others) have prayed for! We can't think you all enough for all of those thoughts and prayers. We have been truly blessed with GREAT friends and family!! WE LOVE YOU ALL!!

So tonight JJ and I have a wedding to go too! My mom and step dad are keeping Lane, this will be the second time they have kept him for us. It's awfully hard for Mommy (and Daddy) to leave little man! Well here are some pics of the little guy.. He is smiling more now! Enjoy!

1 month doctor's appt

We went to the doctor this morning! Yay!! We weighed in at 8 lbs and 14 oz and measured 21 inches however they didn't get him fully stretched out so I think he is closer to 21.5! The doctor said he looked great and was putting on weight like he should. He got one shot, I made Grammie hold his arms down and I got to save him from those mean ole women! :)

As you all know Cassie is my cousin, she is one of the coolest almost 4 year olds I know! Well she has been over the moon in love with Lane (aka Baby J) since day one!! She is always wanting to hold him, change him, or feed him! It is so sweet to watch her help me each weekday!! She is so gentle and caring with him!! She is such a great "BIG" cousin!! So here are some pics from the past week of the two of them together

Ok...so as you know we live in Oklahoma! We don't usually get snow(usually it's ice) however the other day we got a little bit(not even an inch) but it was Lane's first snow! So here he is at the front door, you really can't see the snow but it's the thought that counts!!

TWO WEEKS OLD

Wow...Lane is two weeks old today! Time is seems to be flying by!! He is doing so good, he sleeps between 4 and 5 1/2 hours a night! Yes you read that right!! He is beginning to be more alert and looking around, he will sorta of turn his head when he hears JJ's or my voice! It's so sweet!! Also this past Saturday we took him to see Santa, he was very awake during the whole time! Well I'm off to take care of a few things while Lane is chilling in his chair!! Enjoy these pics!!

Lane Thomas Johnston

We had to be at the hospital at 5:30am Tuesday morning, we got here got a room. Signed our lives away!!! By 6am they had me started on the pit drip. At that point I was at a still at a 2 and 80%. They started slowly increasing, my doctor came in at around 10, checked me I was at a 3 and 90%. She was able to break my water with her fingers, and told me it might be a long day. After that the contracitons started coming strong and hard. So they gave Nubain to take the edge off..the nurse checked me again and said I was still at a 3 and 90 and that he had a full head of hair at 11ish..I was carrying on a convo with my family and I started sweating and I need to pee(11:25ish) so JJ went and got a nurse to help me to the restroom...I then went to climb back into bed and she hooked me up to the monitor and it took her forever to find HB..it was in the 70's and within a minute I had 5 or 6 nurse surrounding me rolling me and making me get on all fours. Nothing was working..so they pulled the monitors and started running me down to the OR..JJ was in shock and panic as was I...they got me in the OR and told me that JJ was scrubbing in, and that they were so sorry they weren't telling me much. All of this started at 11:33. I was knocked completely out, they last thing I remember was hearing my doctors voice saying "Are we ready, we need to get him out NOW" When I woke up in recover, I was told that I had a perfect health 8 pound baby with a head full of blond hair and that daddy was with him..I am still under the impression that JJ was in the room with when Lane was delivered.. Once they had my pain under control they started wheeling me back to my room, they stopped at the nursery and they held Lane up to the window for me to see him.I got back to my room, and five minutes later JJ came in with Lane and started telling me the story...he was almost scrubbed in and they came out and told him that he couldn't come in b/c they had me knocked and they needed to move fast. They told him that is the quickest they had ever seen my doctor run. He was delivered in 15 minutes from the time it all started in my room.

The big day is Tomorrow

We have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am tomorrow morning! I promise an update once he arrives and the grandma's get their hands on him!!

7 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, you read the title right!! We are 7 days(or less) from finally meeting our little man!! Lane has been very active lately(we are guessing he is just as excited to meet us and keep us up for hours on end)!! I have been in MAJOR nesting mode! Poor JJ!! Let's just say the poor guy comes home working at the pharmacy only to have a huge honey do list!!! He has also gotten a crash course in how to use my camera's, so there will be NO lack of pics of our little man!!!!!!!

We have some great family news...JJ's cousin Brooke is expecting twins and they have found out that they are a boy and a girl.. Weslee Parker and Brooklyn Rose!! Congrats, we love you guys!!!!

Well I had better get off of here and get ready for my doctor's appt! I will be sure to keep you all updated!! Thank you for all of the prayers! We can't wait to share Lane with you all!

Time has flown by!! I'm feeling good, other than this lovely sinus stuff!!! Lane is a moving monster!! He loves music, all but country!!! LOL!!! We will keep you updated!!!

OKC Baby Shower

Let me first start off with a HUGE THANK YOU to Kim and Debi for hosting this beautiful shower for us!! You ladies are awesome!

The shower was so great, Lane is one spoiled little boy!! My oh My, he got a lot of stuff!!! He got some adorable outfits, he is going to be sharped dressed little boy!! I haven't gotten pics taken of the loot yet but I promise I will.

Wow....one busy week!!!!

Well I had a little time before I get my butt off this couch to clean to blog!! This week is so busy, I'm so glad because that means the next 6 weeks(yes from tomorrow it's 6 weeks) might go by a little faster!! We can hope right!?! This is what this week holds in store for us:

First off...JJ is on call until Friday at 9 am!! Yes it sucks that on our busiest week lately that we have to deal with that dang cell phone!

Tuesday...we have baby feeding class..aka...breast feeding class!! Yes, JJ is going!! I think that will be great to have him there so that way he learns what I do, that way when I wanna give up he can stand the ground and help me see that it's ok!! That I can do it!!

Wed.....Jesse(JJ's cousin) is coming into town for the night..we are looking forward to going out to dinner with him!!

Thursday.....we have an appt. with Dr. Parrington, to meet with her and see if we would like to use her as Lane's doctor!!

Saturday....My GREAT friends Kim and Debi are hosting a baby shower for us!!! Kim is so busy this week with midterms and she still offered her home to host it at!! Thank you Kim!! You are the best! I am so blessed to have GREAT friends!! If you have gotten an invite and are going to attend..PLEASE CALL KIM TO RSVP...so that she can get a head count!!

Ok....well I need to get my booty of this couch and get started cleaning this house...I mean I only have six weeks to get it cleaned and ready for company!!!

Hobart Baby Shower!!

Lane, Jason and I were very spoiled a couple of weekends ago!! We were on the recieving end of some wonderful gifts!! My grandmothers, mothers, and some wonderful women put together a beautiful baby shower for us. Thank you for all the great gifts and all the love!! Here are some pics!! Enjoy!!

Lane Update!!

We went to the doctor last Tuesday! We had a ultrasound and Lane is up to 4 lbs!! OH MY!!! So the doctor that she would like to go ahead and get us on the schedule for induction, so that we might be able to avoid a C-Section. So she has us on the schedule for Nov 25th! So if Lane hasn't made his way into the world as of then, you can see us at the hospital on the 25th.

Update Time

HELLO!! Sorry it's been so long!! Things have been a little crazy around here!! We have had birthing classes, anniversary, birthdays, OU football, on call weeks, and getting a list together for baby showers!! Wow...that was a mouth full!!!

Well first off this weekend we helped Little Charolette celebrate her first birthday!! It was so much fun!! Here are pics!!

Birthing Classes

We start our birthing classes tonight, I'm a little excited and a tad bit nervous!! I can't believe that it's already time to start them, I remember when I scheduled them, I didn't think that it would ever get here!! We are 27 weeks today, so that means that in 13 weeks(give or take a few weeks or days) little Lane will finally be here!! JJ and I are getting so excited to finally be nearing the end of the great journey that we started four years ago!!

Onto other news....

My cousin Kim, found out what she is having....IT'S A BOY!!! So Lane will have boy to rough house with!!

My cousin Jessica gave birth to Jaedyn Ryanne two weeks ago tomorrow! Jaedyn is in the NICU up here at Childrens. She seems to be doing better, from what Jess has told me, they are keeping her until she starts to eat better! Please keep her in your prayers

Our neighbors, Art and Mandy, are delivering their little bundle of joy today!! We are so excited to meet this new little neighbor!! Can't wait to hear if it's a girl or a boy!! God Bless you guys and we are thinking about you today!!

It's been a while since I have updated everyone!! We are under 100 days!! Wow!! We are 26 weeks today, so 14 weeks to go! We are so excited and ready to finally meet Lane!! Well for your enjoyment, here is a 25 week belly pic

Rain Rain Go Away!!

Yep..it's been raining for two days straight(with little breaks)!!!! However I love the temps!! It's 68 outside right now!! Thank goodness we live on top of the hill or I think we would be floating away!!

I just want to say THANK YOU to all of our AMAZING friends and family!! You all have been such a blessing in our lives, esp. these past four years!! I know that at times I couldn't have made it though all the ups and downs of this journey!! We are so lucky to have you all in our lives and we can't wait for Lane to meet you! Pregnancy update

Hello!!! Well lets see!!! I will be 19 weeks on Thursday!! I am feeling pretty good, and my tireness seeems to be getting better!! YAY!!! So....we have our BIG ultrasound Monday(July 7th) and yes we are going to find out the sex of the baby!! We are so excited to get to see the baby again!! I will make sure and get the ultrasounds up as soon as we get home!!! For your enjoyment here is that 17 week belly picture I promised!!!

I thought I would share with you some pics of my ever growing belly!! I also wanted to give an update!! We are 17 weeks today and I'm feeling pretty good(except I'm extremely tired all the time). It is amazing to me how fast it is going, it seems like yesterday I was calling Jason to tell him he was going to be a daddy!! Well enjoy my belly!!

Pregnancy update

Hello! Wow a new post two days in a row!! What has gotten into me!!!

Well onto the update!! We are 15 weeks(we will be 16 weeks Thursday), so far so good! We went to the doctor yesterday and she said things looked good. Our next appointment will be the BIG ultrasound!! Yes, we are going to find out the sex(we've waited so long for this moment). That appointment is on July 7th!
